Spectroscopic Characterization of Al Pulsed Laser Ablation Plasma

The experimental set up used for the spectroscopic characterization of the Al pulsed laser ablation plasma is presented in the diagram below.

For excitation was used the second harmonic (Lambda=0.532 um, 180 mJ energy), of a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (Lambda=1,064 um, 360 mJ energy), 4.5 pulse duration, 0.1-10 Hz repetition frequency.

The UV, visible and IR spectra of the Al pulsed laser ablation plasma was registered using an Acton Research spectrometer.
